Background

In 2018, the World Organization for Animal Health adopted a new chapter in its Terrestrial Animal Health Code dedicated to recommendations for the welfare of pigs.

This event is part of ongoing efforts to implement these recommendations in production systems around the world, including in the Americas.

OBJECTIVE AND IMPACT 

The conference program follows the topics of chapter 7.13 “Animal welfare and swine production” and its main objective was to bring together leading experts to present the topics in a logical and accessible format that facilitates wide adoption.

In addition to the exhibitor program, in person roundtables with attendees from multiple sectors discussed the topics in detail.
